Introduction
Welcome to the dedicated home for the development of the Wap-2-Go Mobile Content Management System (CMS) Portal. The simple 'all in the box' solution for webmasters wishing to provide dynamic mobile website content to their users of mobile phones, PDAs or other mobile devices.
Wap-2-Go mobile cms websites are fully customisable to your own design and needs, or use pre-designed themes to style your mobile website portal. A selection of themes are included with the basic releases of Wap-2-Go and more will be added as the mobile cms script is further developed.
Wap-2-Go mobile cms is a mobile website that can be accessible on mobile phones, PDAs and other mobile devices, generated 'on-the-fly' from your site content. Customisable user preferences allow a bespoke fit to any device and also allow disabling of images by users to reduce their bandwidth/traffic (useful if charged per Kb by their provider). The use of themes also allow easy styling of your mobile website portal.
Wap-2-Go is fully WML (WAP1.1) and xHTML (WAP2.0) compliant. WML being the standard mark-up language for older mobile websites; whilst xHTML (WAP 2.0) is the current standard allowing more advanced styling - giving your site an even more impressive look.
Visit our mobile website portal to see a demonstration of the Wap-2-Go Mobile CMS Website in action - http://Wap-2-Go.Mobi!
The demo above allows you to test the Wap-2-Go Mobile CMS in a live environment. All content is live from this site. Your browser must support iFrames for the demo to appear; click here if you see no demo.
What is CMS?
CMS is short-hand for "Content Management System" - this is a system that allows you to simply enter data and content rather than having to manually write or "code" your website. So no knowledge of PHP, HTML, WML or other coding is required. Your content is stored on a database on your server and accessed when requested by your users.
What can it do for me?
If you run any website using a "nuke" database you can simply install Wap-2-Go on your server - a very simple procedure - and give your users instant access to your content whilst on the go.
Alternatively, if you currently have no website, but are looking to provide a multi-platform website (meaning it will be accessible both on the web and on mobile devices) I will soon provide a full distribution of Wap-2-Go which also incorporates the web-based element. In the meantime, if you are looking to start a website you can use distributions of Nuke such as "PHP-Nuke" or "Ravensnuke". Simply install the main nuke distribution and then install Wap-2-Go once you have setup your site.
Ok, so how much is this going to cost me?!!!
Nothing! You can't complain at that can you? All I ask is that users can donate towards development of this project - please bear in mind that this is taking a huge amount of my time and I do have to pay for this website. To donate please click here
So how do I get a Wap-2-Go Mobile CMS Website?
Simple! Simply register (for free) on this site to obtain access to our downloads. Download the latest distribution and follow the simple instructions provided to install Wap-2-Go on your server. Please remember to check the Releases Forum for the latest release of the Wap-2-Go Mobile CMS platform.

There has been much interest lately around HTML5 and its readiness for production environments and whether HTML5 apps should be used over native apps. This has been due, in large part, to the high-profile defections of tech behemoths such as Facebook and LinkedIn away from HTML5 to native apps for their core mobile services.

After the Overview of Facebook Home and how to install it on Android, it's time to have a look at Facebook Home from a business and developer perspective.
From a strategic point of view, Facebook Home certainly has the potential to capture Android users, divert them away from Google?s services and draw them closer to the Facebook platform. So it is certainly a threat to Google in that it reduces Android?s flexibility, and therefore the strength of Google?s position.

Mobile is becoming more important by the day and the figures speak for themselves: about 1 page out of every 8 was viewed using a mobile device (including tablets and phones) according to recent comScore research and last month Google released a study which showed that 77% of mobile searches were performed at home or at work even if a desktop PC was available.

Badly- and inconsiderately-built native apps are increasingly attracting criticism for draining battery life, sapping too much of the user?s data allowance and clogging operators? networks. Enthusiastic amateur developers with little or no mobile experience are often blamed, but ignorance is only part of the story.

You commonly hear the mobile business being referred to as an ecosystem and there?s a good reason for that. Trust has to exist in the mobile ecosystem between customers and mobile marketers, mobile retailers, et al, otherwise they won?t engage and make purchases. Just one bad mobile experience with one company could cause a customer to lose faith with the mobile business as a whole, to the detriment of all. Companies that break the rules and ignore customer privacy are the killing mobile business just as it is getting started.
